Windward students have had the pleasure of dining out with parents and friends, but few have had the opportunity to explore the wide variety of restaurants near the school itself, particularly the ones that are easy on the wallet.
The eateries within a 10-mile radius of Windward range from hamburgers to Cajun gumbo. What stands out among these diverse restaurants is the great quality of their economically priced food. Each featured restaurant has a price range of $10 to $15 per meal.
- Apple Pan offers the traditional American cuisine at a reasonable price. Visitors can enjoy a pleasant dining experience and excellent service as well as quality food. The food at Apple Pan consists mainly of burgers and other American cuisine, but the food is much tastier and healthier than any average fast food restaurant. All these combined factors make Apple Pan one of the better local restaurants for families and friends.
- Next on the list is a local favorite, Bay Cities Deli. This deli specializes in Italian cuisine. Customers can buy a variety of meat as well as a tasty lunch. Although the price is on the higher end, the flavorful food is well worth the price. Bay Cities Deli is especially known for its tasty sandwiches.
- Last on the list is a restaurant called Gumbo Pot. Gumbo Pot offers authentic Cajun Gumbo. For an affordable price, one can experience the taste and feel of Louisiana. Some of the more popular food there ranges from seafood gumbo to jambalaya, all for less than $9. Although food is not upscale, Gumbo Pot offers a distinctive, historical Louisiana experience. This is one of the few times that Los Angeles locals experience a taste of Bourbon Street.

What an excellent article. Makes me want to drive over from Pasadena and try ALL of these restaurants. Great work!
